The title company told me they required final payment by wire and Alex had told me final payment could be done by cashier's check. This created headaches immediately before, during, and after closing. "We chose Alex and First Home after friends used them to purchase their home. After using First Home Mortgage to close on our house in March, we recently re-financed with them. Alex reached out to me at after I had just decided that we should refinance, which I appreciated. He had an excellent cost calculations for different possible scenarios and walked me through the process. The rates offered were not the best I had seen advertised, but they were competitive and we were willing to potentially make that sacrifice in order to lock in at the time and proceed quickly with someone we trusted. Re-financing was honestly easier than I thought it would be (compared to buying a house). Although there was some confusion over who we should make our first payment to after re-financing, that was quickly cleared up. Alex and First Home are responsive and willing to work for, and to keep, your business. But on the other hand, a slight difference in rates can mean a massive amount of money when homes are priced the way they are here."
